Indian Gen-Zs are aging prematurely! Heart attacks, which we usually associate with old age, are becoming increasingly common among 15-16 year olds. Additionally, posture issues are on the rise—Gen-Zs are developing hunched backs similar to those seen in older adults.
Moreover, a survey conducted among 10,000 children from 18 states in India revealed that problems like lower back pain and neck pain, which were once typical of people in their 60s and 70s, are now affecting teenagers in Gen-Z.
Another point of concern is puberty. A 2014 survey found that 80% of Gen-Z girls in urban areas are reaching puberty by the age of 11, which is two years earlier than the previous average age.
Finally, the Indian Gen-Z generation appears to be mentally disturbed. The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) issued a report in 2021 warning that 14% of Indian youths aged 15 to 25, or one in seven, are experiencing depression or other mental health issues. This indicates a significant prevalence of mental instability among the youth. Let's discuss!!
